If you’re looking to immerse yourself into the world as it was in WWII, look no further. This book kept me guessing, while endearing me to the women who people its pages – brave, fierce, and full of familial love.
I was completely enraptured with the unravelling of secrets and the author’s decision to not push the ‘romanticism’ too far but keep it in the realm of both believability – thereby honouring the lead character’s intelligence, practicality, and hard-earned wisdom. An odd statement, haha, but read the book and you’ll know what I mean. 😉
